Pumpkin Craft

October 16

Little Stitching, Much Fall Décor

Each lady made a fabric pumpkin or two. With simple hand-stitching pumpkins of all shapes, size, and colors were made. All supplies were provided.

God carves and molds us into a unique shape

1. Choose Pumpkin

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9

2. Plan: This May Seem Painful and Confusing

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

3. Clean Inside: The Inside is a Mess

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9

4. Put in Light

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5: 14-16

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8

BE A VESSEL OF LIGHT FOR THE LORD

Cupcake Party

There was a sweet start to our LIFT year on Wednesday, September 18.

The new year of LIFT began with a cupcake party. Christi Sensenig gave some cupcake decorating tips. Then each lady decorated a cupcake for our first-ever LIFT cupcake contest.

We started with sweet snacks - including a Cupcake Cake - Thanks Karen!!
A room full of lovely ladies.
Heather led us in an appropriate devotional that concentrated our thoughts on who our God is.

C - God is compassionate
Psalm 116:5 - The Lord is gracious and righteous, our God is full of
compassion.

U - Godʼs love is unfailing
Psalm 136 - ...His love endures forever (26 times)

P - God is pure/perfect
Habakkuk 1:13a (pure) Your eyes are too pure to look at evil...
2 Samuel 22:31a (perfect) As for God, his way is perfect; the word
of the Lord is flawless.

C - God is our conductor
Proverbs 3:5&6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not
on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and
he will make your paths straight.

A - God is our anchor
Hebrews 6:19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm
and secure. *NO ONE IS HOPELESS WHOSE HOPE IS IN GOD!

K - God is kind
Titus 3:4-5 Living Bible (TLB)
4 But when the time came for the kindness and love of God our Savior to appear, 5 then he saved us—not
because we were good enough to be saved but because of his kindness and pity—by washing away our sins and giving us the new joy of the indwelling Holy Spirit,

E - God is our equitable judge
Psalm 96:10(NIV)
Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.
Christi demonstrated helpful
decorating techniques

This young guy got to help his mom add
