Getting Card Ideas

I had said I would share the website I like to use to get card ideas. It is http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/. Since most of my stamp sets are from Stampin' Up! I select the SU gallery and look for my stamp set name. Have fun checking out all the creative ideas.

Have you given your cards yet? Someone may need a blessing to brighten their day when their world seems like it’s falling apart around them. Judy shared that in our pain we can say,
"I don't know the answer to why this is happening and God doesn't owe us one. Keep in mind that Moses and Elijah were tremendously used by God, but neither got everything he asked. We can't let our fear that God may not affirmatively answer our every prayer keep us from praying." (from Beth Moore)

Over twenty ladies gathered on February 16 to make four cards prepared by Gretchen and Judy. We started our event with a meaningful sharing and prayer time. Lori followed by looking at Matthew 5: The Beatitudes. Lori said she likes to think of the Beatitudes as “We can BE better people if we had the ATTITUDE Jesus taught the disciples."















Mt 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mt 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Mt 5:5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Mt 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Mt 5:7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Mt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Mt 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Mt 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mt 5:11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Mt 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

• Slightly used children’s clothing (sizes newborn to 2T only)

Layette Items:
• crib sheets
• onesies
• newborn diapers
• baby towels and washcloths
• one piece sleepers
• one outfit
• baby powder
• baby bath
• receiving blanket
• baby wipes
• bibs
• baby book (bible story is nice)
• something for “mom”

Sheets, onesies, towels, clothing, and blankets do not have to be new- as long as they were “gently used”.

Give a Card!

Wednesday, February 16
9:00am-11:00am

Get excited! Four cards have been prepped for you to make with ease. Two crafters from our group have assembled stamps and supplies for you to create four different cards. Then, you’ll be able to “give back” a little blessing to those you care about.

BRING: Yourself. If you have adhesive (tape runners or glue sticks, you can bring those too)

OPTIONAL: Want to keep making cards after LIFT? Bring some of your supplies to stay and make cards or scrapbook. You will need to provide your own lunch and childcare. You are welcome to stay until 3:00. Please let Judy know if you plan to stay. judymummau@embarqmail.com


FOR SALE: A table will be set up to sell and/or purchase stamping and scrapbooking supplies. If you are selling, please clearly label your supplies.

Well...we're going to try having a "Sharing Table" at LIFT. Bring anything you want to give away or show the other ladies. If you do not want someone to take it, just LABEL: "Please do not take."

As easy as that - you can share a blessing!
I already have several nice things I didn't want to throw away because I think someone else could use them. See you on Feb. 16!
