So many special details awaited the ladies! Jen S. provided homemade lavender soap for each lady!! |
Our devotion encouraged us to pray for our husbands.
Here is a story that was shared:
As a new bride, aunt Edna put a shoe
box on her shelf in the closet and asked her husband to never touch
it. For 50 years uncle Jack left that box alone until aunt Edna was
old and dying. One day he found the box and thought it might hold
something important, so he opened it and found two homemade place
mats and $82,000 in cash. He asked her about the contents. She said,
“My mom gave me that box when we were married. She told me to make
a place mat every time I was mad at you.” Uncle Jack was very
touched that in 50 years she had only been mad at him twice. “Where
did you get the $82,000,” he asked. “Oh,” she said. “That's
the money I made selling place mats.”
Two lessons are:
1 – After 50 years, in-spite of all
their disagreements, they were still married.

2 – Lack of conflict is not what
defines a good marriage.
Comedian Ken Davis said: "If you don't
have conflict in your marriage – one of you is dead.
A good marriage is two people that
follow Christ and work through conflict together."
How do we work through conflict?
1 – Through Communication
2 – Through Prayer
Satan desires to destroy your
husband, especially his character and his leadership in your
relationship.
Pray for your husband.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all
kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always
keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:8
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks
nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of
her life. Proverbs 31: 11-12
